Spirax Sarco - Steam Trap Overview

Float & Thermostatic Steam Traps - Download

  • Immediate condensate discharge with clean, tight shut-off.  No back-up of condensate ensures maximum plant efficiency.
  • Works efficiently on both heavy and light loads with no passage of live steam.
  • Not affected by wide and sudden fluctuations of pressure or flowrate.
  • Infinite turndown ratio
  • Stainless steel internals that can tolerate corrosive condensate.
  • Integral air vent to ensure rapid warm-up of plant.
  • Robust construction to guarantee long life against waterhammer and vibration.

Inverted Bucket Mechanical Steam Traps - Download
  • Near continuos condensate discharge with tight shut-off.  Minimal back-up of condensate ensures maximum plant efficiency.
  • Simple and robust construction to guarantee long life against waterhammer and vibration.
  • Stainless steel internals are attached to the cover for ease of maintenance.
  • Integral strainer (B-Series and HM34 models only).

Thermodynamic Steam Traps - Download
  • Condensate is discharged close to steam temperature at all operating pressures.  Withstands superheat, waterhammer, freezing, corrosive condensate and vibration.
  • Only one moving part - a stainless steel disc hardened for long life
  • Blast discharge with clean, tight shutoff audible "click" as the disc seats performance is easily checked
  • Single piece stainless steel body eliminates internal gaskets and leak paths.
  • Will work in any orientation.  Available in swivel connector configuration for best orientation and simplified maintenance

Thermostatic Steam Traps - Download

  • Condensate is discharged at below steam saturation temperature, utilising sensible heat in the condensate and reducing flash steam losses.
  • Automatically discharges air and other incondensable gases to aid rapid warm-up of plant.
  • It automatically adjusts itself to variations of steam pressure up to its maximum operating pressure.
  • Discharge temperature set by capsule selection - no requirement to adjust on site.
  • Patented design of capsule manufactured using advanced technology to exacting quality standards.
  • All stainless steel internals extend working life and reduces plant maintenance.

Bimetallic Thermostatic Steam Traps - Download

  • Condensate is discharged at below steam saturation temperature, utilising sensible heat in the condensate and reducing flash steam losses.
  • Automatically discharges air and other incondensable gases to aid rapid warm-up of plant.
  • The bimetal elements can work over a wide range of steam pressures without any need for on-site adjustment.
  • Patented design of bimetallic element.
  • Resistant to waterhammer and freezing.
  • The SMC32 series has a two bolt cover design for ease of maintenance
  • Bimetal traps can work on super heated steam and be used as air vents on superheat applications.

Float & Thermostatic Steam Traps - Download

  • H-pattern design allows piping from either side of the steam trap (there are two inlet ports at top and two outlet ports at bottom).
  • Excellent air handling capability allowing air to be discharged rapidly and steam to enter the system quickly during start up.
  • Welded stainless steel thermostatic air vent resists shock from water hammer.
  • In-line repairable (all internals are attached to cover)

Inverted Bucket Steam Traps - Download

  • All stainless steel body
  • Acceptable for superheated steam (with check valve installed at inlet)
  • Water hammer resistant
  • Valve & seat are at the top of the trap making it less sensitive to dirt
  • All stainless steel internals with hardened valve & seat

Thermodynamic Steam Traps - Download

  • High pressure applications up to 600 PSIG.
  • Hardened stainless steel seat and disc for extended service life even at high pressure.
  • Single trap will operate over the entire pressure range of 3.5-600 PSIG (Not recommended for use below 10 PSI).
  • Suitable for superheated steam.
  • Freezeproof when trap is piped in a vertical orientation for complete drainage of condensate.
  • Three-hole balanced discharge extends life of the seat area
  • Trap will function in any orientation (horizontal preferred).

Thermostatic Steam Traps - Download

  • Excellent air handling capability which allows steam to enter and the system to warm up faster; extremely important during start up
  • Welded stainless steel thermal element which resists shock from water hammer
  • freezeproof when trap is installed in a vertical orientation allowing for complete condensate drainage
  • Body is produced from solid stainless steel barstock

Thermostatic Steam Traps - Download

  •  Excellent for high pressure and superheated steam applications
  • Freezeproof and resistant to water hammer
  • Suitable for superheated steam with check valve installed at inlet
  • In-line repairable
  • Trap can be welded into line

Universal Steam Traps - Download

  •  Universal Connectors are used in steam systems to simplify the replacement and maintenance of Steam Traps
  • They allow Steam Traps to be removed and replaced in minutes without having to unthread piping.
  • Two bolts connect the steam trap module to the permanently-installed universal connector.

Manifolds - Download

  •  Compact design saves valuable plant space
  • Available in 4,6,8 & 12 branch designs
  • Available with preassembled steam trap stations
  • Standard designs or custom built manifolds available
  • Provides freeze protection
  • Reduces installation and maintenance time
  • On FSM Model valve bonnets are long neck type to allow for installation of insulation, keeping surface temperatures low for protection of personnel
